To work out the size of radiator, in kilowatts (kw), needed to heat each room, use the formula number of kw = volume of room x 0.04
Example 1 - Standard room
For a room 3m x 4m x 2.5m high
no. of kw = 1.2kW (3 x 4 x 2.5 x 0.04)
We suggest a SU61/15 or SU61/16
Example 2 - People who feel the cold
If you are elderly or feel the cold, we suggest that you use a figure of 0.045
For a room 4m x 4m x 2.5m high
no. of kw = 1.8kW (4 x 4 x 2.5 x 0.045)
We suggest a SU61/20a, 20b or 20c (depending on available wall space)
Example 3 - North facing outer wall
If a room has a north facing outer wall then increase the result by 25% and use 0.05
For a room 4.5m x 4m x 2.5m high
no. of kw = 2.25kW (4.5 x 4 x 2.5 x 0.05)
We suggest a SU61/25a or 25b (depending on available wall space)
